chappy asked:
A friend has had a cancer removed (about 7 months ago) and is due for another check-up in July 2008. We’re travelling to USA in January and need to get travel insurance, but most companies say they won’t medically insure anyone who has had cancer or is awaiting medical investigation. Can she get fully comprehensive insurance from anywhere?

I am sure there HAS to be some type of insurance out there for your friend, unfortionately I do not have the type. I bet your friend’s doctor would be able to tell you though.

No. You must be cancer free (any type of cancer) for 2 years before she can get insurance. However, if she was insured before the cancer, she might be able to renew at a much higher rate. Sorry. I too was unable to be insured for 2 yrs after my breast cancer in 2000. I have checked several companies for you and they all said the same thing. Good Luck.
