What places do you reccomend for my first time visit? I want to travel to certain places in Alaska where there is Russian heritage. What do you reccomend for lodging, that are not too expensive. Could I bring a tent for camping to save money?

Try Homer. Their are a lot of Russian villages that are around in that area. (Nikolaevsk, Voznesenka, Razdolna, and Kachemak Selo) Nikolaevsk is more easily accesable then the others. It is on a road called North Fork and has a gift shop and nice little restauant. You can just camp out on the beach in Homer. It will be less expensive then renting a room at a hotel. You can take a water taxi over to Seldovia, which is a pretty little town that was founded by Russians in the early 1800’s. Nice little site with different transportation methods to Seldovia here…

    Have fun up here!!!
